La Versilia

At the centre of some important historic events, Versilia has grown and developed thanks to the considerable resources of marble from the Apuan Alps. 
It was at the height of its splendour in the 1960s when some of the most prestigious Italian families chose it for their summer residences, building their villas in the pinewood of Roma Imperiale in Forte dei Marmi.
 Tourism has continued to increase since then, attracting people from all over the world. The consistently mild climate, the mountains beside the sea, the typical beaches of Versilia, the simple, clean lifestyle and great nightlife, the smell of the sea that fills your lungs with every breath, perhaps these are the secrets of this rich and hospitable land that has welcomed and guided tourists on their holidays for many years.
